The Hold Steady played a great show last week at the Belly Up in Solana Beach.

They’re a pretty divisive band: lots of people love them, others can’t stand them. I’m in the first camp, but they’re an acquired taste. I think seeing them live turns most people around. The energy they put out is amazing, and it really is like some sort of revival.
